Examples of recent projects:

 

Clean Scene Network for Youth Society - funding for ongoing dialogue with teens about choosing a drug-free lifestyle. This organization's members travel across Alberta and the NWT reaching youths and encouraging them to avoid drugs and drug related crime.

Girl Power! - a grant to help the Boys and Girls Club of Edmonton deliver their Girl Power! program that is specifically geared to foster self esteem, pride in accomplishment and positive decision-making for high-risk girls.

Service Dogs for Children with Autism - the Western Guide and Assistance Dog Society expanded their scope to include assistance to those with a variety of disabilities. Minerva's funding assisted in the development and delivery of a new program Service Dogs for Children with Autism.

Support Network's Youth One - a dynamic initiative reaching disheartened youth through on-line communication. Through this unique approach, peer support and crisis intervention is provided, benefiting the youth and their family.

Little Warriors, Stewards of Children - funding was provided for Little Warriors to produce a Canadian training manual for the Stewards of Children program. This manual will assist Little Warriors in their child sexual abuse prevention-training program that educates adults to prevent, recognize and reach responsibility to issues of child sexual abuse.

Edmonton Community Legal Centre's Housing Supports Program - funding was provided to assist this association in helping and advocating for Edmontonians in need and their search for housing.

Keshotu - the Northern Alberta Alliance on Race Relations was provided funding to deliver a leadership-training program called Keshotu. This program is offered to qaulified youths of African heritage in Edmonton and focuses on empowering youth to become leaders in our community.

Winnifred Stewart Association - a grant to offer a meaninful art program to those with disabilities and allow them to showcase their art to the public.

Jericho Youth Society - funding to support The Vault Drop-in Centre in Cold Lake. The Jericho Youth Society works tirelessly to address the critical needs of youth in this rural Alberta town.

Paralympic Sports Association - funding to help adults with a disability to be physically active and socially engaged through a floor hockey and square dancing program.
